Before/After School Programming
The district's After School Education and Safety (ASES) program provides academic support and enrichment for students in grades K-8 outside of the regular school day. ASES programs are free-of-charge to parents, and have a limited number of spaces for students. All ASES programs begin immediately upon the conclusion of the regular school day and operate at least until 6:00 PM (6:08 PM at the middle school level) on every regular school day. Programs are being provided at Alamosa Park, Beaumont, Bobier, Casita, Foothill Oak, Grapevine, Hannalei, Maryland, Monte Vista, Temple Heights, and Vista Academy elementary schools, and Rancho Minerva, Roosevelt and VIDA middle schools.

The district's 21st Century High School "ASSETs" program provides academic support and enrichment for high school students outside of the regular school day. Alta Vista, Major General Murray, Rancho Buena Vista and Vista High are all currently providing ASSETs programs.
Both the ASES and 21st Century Programs undergo an annual evaluation process to ensure program quality and effectiveness. All evaluation results are readily available for public review. 2020-2021 Continuous Quality Improvement Process
The Extended Learning Program, in collaboration with SDCOE, participates in a Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Process annually. This process includes surveying staff, students, parents, as well as site level administrators. Data collected is used to create specific improvement goals for each program site.

RE: Notice of Intent to Submit an Application for 21st Century Community Learning Centers Program (After School Programs)
In accordance with the application instructions from the California Dept. of Education, the San Diego County Office of Education submits a public notice to the community of Vista Unified School District of San Diego County Office of Education's intent to submit an application for a 21st Century Community Learning Centers After School Programs grant for public schools to be served in the aforementioned areas.
