Purpose Statement
The purpose of the Transportation Department is to provide a safe, reliable, well maintained, ecologically efficient, and effective transportation fleet and system for our students, faculty/staff, programs, and schools.
This is being accomplished by:
- Developing internal capacity through bus driver training programs to expand routes and options for programs and schools.
- The conversion of the district fleets to green technologies.
- The establishment of standards of care for our students, faculty, and staff.
- Working with our community to establish new service practices to more effectively and reliably implement transportation routes.
- Being highly responsive to all community and school requests.
- Foster a community of kindness and care.
- Ongoing professional development to meet or exceed our standards of care.
Scope of Responsibility
All aspects of operations, logistics, and care of school bus transportation and the district service fleet of vehicles.

The Transportation department is focused on the ongoing development of our team to support our team. A few fast facts about our services:
- We average 11 General Education Routes and 33 Special Education Routes per-day.
- We have over 120 vehicles.
- Each year, district bus drivers log over half a million miles in student transportation - this is the equivalent of driving to the moon and back each year.
Transportation Plan
