PEACHJAR ELECTRONIC FLYERS FOR PARENTS

We are excited to share information about our partnership with Peachjar to help us unite schools, parents, and communities in our collective mission to elevate student outcomes! Peachjar’s platform streamlines school-to-home communication by distributing valuable school and community resources directly to families as digital flyers. By enabling our district to go paperless, Peachjar helps us save thousands of trees each year.

In an effort to make the process of distributing community flyers easier for our district staff, VUSD utilizes Peachjar, an e-flyer distribution service.

Flyers that were once sent home to parents are now delivered electronically to your inbox. There is no charge to parents and families to receive e-flyers from the school Peach Jar system.

Peachjar organizes all important school and community information in one place! In addition to receiving emails from your school, look for the ‘Peachjar’ button or icon on your school website to view all active flyers.

This system is used exclusively for distribution of  flyers. Your email address will not be shared or used for any other purpose. Thank you for helping us save time, money, and lots of trees!

REGISTERING TO RECEIVE FLYERS

-Go to www.peachjar.com to create an account.
-Click on “Parents” icon.
-Follow instructions for creating a user name and password. This will allow you to change your preferences as your child goes through our K-12 schools.

If you have students at more than one school, you will be able to select multiple schools from the drop down menu.

Once you create and account and establish your preferences, e-flyers will come directly to your inbox. 

OUTSIDE ORGANIZATION FLYER APPROVAL PROCESS

VUSD FLYER APPROVAL GUIDELINES

All flyers for distribution in VUSD must meet the following criteria.

Content:

Support the basic educational mission of the district, and/or directly benefit the students or be of intrinsic value to the students or their parents/guardians, and/or promote a Vista community event, group, or organization

Format:

-Flyers must be in a readable PDF format
-Flyers must have the name and contact information of the sponsoring entity
-Flyers can have multiple pages in one PDF document. 

Translation:

All flyers must be provided in English and have an accurate Spanish translated flyer.  Be advised that Google Translate is not sufficient.  VUSD does not provide translation services. 

Flyers must NOT contain materials that:
 
-Are lewd, obscene, libelous, or slanderous.
-Incite students to commit unlawful acts, violate school rules, or disrupt the orderly operation of the schools.
-Promote any commercial or for-profit business that does not support the basic educational mission of the district.
-Promote any particular political interest, candidate, party, or ballot measure, unless the candidates or advocates from all sides are provided the opportunity to present their views to the students during school hours or during events scheduled pursuant to the Civic Center Act.
-Proselytize or position the district on any side of a controversial issue.
-Discriminate against, attack or denigrate any group on account of gender, race, age, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, disability, sexual orientation or other unlawful consideration.
-Promote the use or sale of materials or services that are illegal or inconsistent with school objectives, including, but not limited to, materials or advertisements for tobacco, intoxicants, and movies or products unsuitable for children.

HOW TO UPLOAD AND REGISTER, OUTSIDE ORGANIZATIONS

Our district wants families to know about district-approved community programs and resources offered by organizations like yours! Peachjar charges a fee for this service, which is typically much less than the cost to copy and deliver paper flyers. There are many additional benefits to using Peachjar—clickable buttons that take parents directly to your website, flyer performance reports, and not to mention the time saved driving school to school!  

To request flyer approval, follow the steps below. Once approved, your flyer will be e-mailed to all parents and posted online. Paper flyers from outside organizations will no longer be distributed.

1. Register your account as a Community Organization on Peachjar.com
2. Review Peachjar’s Guide for Community Organizations for information about discount pricing, flyer creation tips, and more
3. Go to ‘Post & Notify’ in your account to submit a flyer
After you hit submit, your flyer will be automatically submitted to the district for approval. Once approved, your flyer will be emailed to parents and posted on each school’s web flyerboard for your selected duration of time.
