The purpose of this update is to inform the community of the actions that were taken by the Board at the  June 18, 2020 Special School Board meeting. 
 
Board Actions: 
 
Discussion/Action Items: 
 
The Board had Consensus on the following Budget Solution items: 
 
Budget Solution for “Stuff” ● Reduce stipends - reductions to be presented at June 25th meeting 
 
Budget Solution for Classified Staff
● Eliminate three speech instructional assistant positions  $109,262
● Eliminate the aquatics specialist position $11,470 ● Eliminate the Adapted PE instructional assistant position  $5,903
● Eliminate the bus driver position (included in reduction to transportation)
● Eliminate the purchasing technician  $70,623
● Eliminate the service desk technician  $82,630
● Eliminate the director of risk management position  $153,400
● Eliminate four unfilled instructional assistant positions  $153,816
● Reduce transportation budget by $592,000 
 
Budget Solution for Certificated Staff
● Eliminate unfilled SDC teacher position  $115,855 ● Eliminate unfilled counselor position  $92,286
● Eliminate three vacant teaching positions  $300,000
● Beginning July 1, hold hiring and do not fill open positions  
 
Board agrees that Dr. Doyle and Rachel D’Ambroso should work to close the remaining gap of budget cuts needed by looking at stipend reductions, focusing on budget solutions in the areas of unused stipends and unfilled positions.  
 
 
● MEASURE LL FACILITIES BOND DISCUSSION/ACTION: VISTA HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL FIELD Board approved moving forward with Option 1.  

 ● MEASURE LL FACILITIES BOND DISCUSSION/ACTION: VISTA HIGH AG DEPARTMENT Board gave direction to wait on this project until we have more information from the resubmitted grant application and requested the Team provide updates when they receive them. 
 
● MEASURE LL FACILITIES BOND DISCUSSION/ACTION: VISTA HIGH CLASSROOM BUILDING PROJECT UPDATE Board gave direction to move from Schematic Design to Design Development.
