Garry Dillard
Assistant Principal
Mr. Dillard is humbled and honored to be part of the educational team here in our district. He truly believes that all students deserve our best, to do their best. He comes to us having taught at elementary, middle, high school, and adult school levels. His philosophy is that everyone is a teacher and a learner, and that true potential is reached when growth occurs in a scholar’s mind/thoughts, feelings, and actions.
Mr. Dillard has an array of subjects that he has taught over the years, ranging from all of the core subjects to even electives like Leadership, Public Speaking, and all levels of Spanish which is his favorite subject. He has also coached many sports at the middle and high school levels such as football, wrestling, basketball, soccer, cross country and track and field.
Mr. Dillard received his Bachelor of Arts degree from UC Santa Barbara, where he double-majored in Spanish and Latin American and Iberian Studies. He then continued on and received his Masters of Education degree from National University. He is currently working on finishing his Doctorate of Education at University of California, San Diego. He is the proud father of a son at Oceanside High school, and a daughter at MLK Middle school. His favorite hobbies include cooking, eating, movies, sports, reading, karaoke, community service, and music.
